After 22 Years, Betsy Fischer Says Goodbye to ‘Meet the Press’

This morning, “Meet the Press” paid tribute to Betsy Fischer Martin on her final broadcast after 22 years with the NBC News public affairs program. Fischer Martin got her start in the business as an intern on “Meet the Press.” She leaves as its top producer: senior EP, a job she’s held since 2002. Fischer Martin is staying with NBC News as Managing Editor of NBC News Political Programming. Rob Yarin joins as EP of “MTP” next week, with his first show next Sunday.

David Gregory paid tribute to his producer — and one-time American University classmate. “If it’s Sunday, thanks to Betsy, it’s ‘Meet the Press,'” said Gregory in his sign-off

In addition to the taped piece , the closing credits included all of her previous titles at the show and the years she held them.
