ABC’s Michael Jackson Special Third in Time Slot

By Chris Ariens

It appears viewers are moving on from the Michael Jackson death investigation. Last night’s “Primetime: Crime” special on ABC was third in its 10pmET/PT time slot, drawing 4.85M Total Viewers and a 1.3 A18-49 rating. The special was beaten by a “CSI: NY” repeat on CBS (6.52M / 1.5) and NBC’s summer series “The Philanthopist” (4.95M / 1.4)

“Primetime: Crime” reported the latest on the investigation and shined a light on celebrities’ drug use and the doctors who enable them.

And speaking of Jackson, CBS’ The Early Show broke the news had the news (as did “Today” and “GMA” at the top of their shows) that Katherine Jackson would get sole custody of Jackson’s three children, with visitation rights given to Debbie Rowe.
