ABC, PBS Pick up WGA Awards

While “Zero Dark Thirty” and “Argo took home the big award at last night’s Writers Guild Awards, PBS and ABC News took home awards as well.

The lead writer at “ABC World News” Lisa Ferri and former ABC writer Joel Siegel (now the political editor at the New York Daily News) took home the award for best writing during a Regularly Scheduled Bulletin or Breaking News Report for their work on ABC’s breaking news coverage of the Aurora movie theater shooting.

In addition, ABC News Radio’s Darren Reynolds won for Best Regularly Scheduled or Breaking News Report in the Radio category. PBS won two awards: the Documentary Current events for the Frontline episode “Money, Power and Wall Street: Episode One” and the Documentary award for non Current Events for NOVA’s “The Fabric of the Cosmos: The Illusion of Time.” Also, Bill Moyers and Michael Winship won for Analysis, Feature or Commentary for “The Ghost of Joe McCarthy” on Moyers & Company.
