ABC News Staffers Brace for Cuts in the New Year

As ABC News president David Westin told his employees in October, ABC is “not immune from the downturn.”

You know what’s coming next.

The NYObserver’s Felix Gillette reports ABC may cut up to 35 staffers in the new year. Gillette writes, “The focus would be on a slimming down of political units the network bulked up during the presidential campaign.” A source tells the Observer, “There’s no hard and fast plan at the moment,” adding, “The division has always managed these kind of things through attrition and the elimination of open positions.”
