ABC News Responds to Toyota’s Demands For Retraction, Apology

ABC News responded last night to Toyota’s demands for a retraction of and apology for a Brian Ross report about the car maker’s acceleration issues. Last month, one of Ross’s reports featured an acceleration test conducted by Prof. David Gilbert.

Gawker has Toyota’s letter to ABC News president David Westin. In it, Toyota U.S.A. VP and General Counsel Christopher Reynolds writes, Ross “failed in his basic duty as a journalist to disclose material information about Professor Gilbert that would have directly influenced his credibility with the audience.”
