ABC, NBC Vet To Helm Journalism Program

Marian Porges, a longtime senior producer in the NBC News specials unit, has been tapped to run the New York Film Academy Journalism program which is a part of NBC’s education initiatives. Porges will serve as chairman of the department with responsibility for overseeing the one-year curriculum, teaching the core journalism course, as well as coordinating the involvement of NBC News personnel. Porges spent the last 13 years with NBC News producing political coverage and special reports for the network. Before that, she spent 12 years at ABC News as a producer.

The appointment is effective today.
