ABC Journos Killed: Families Received Death Threats, So Net Limited Use Of Pictures

The families of the two slain Iraqi ABC News journalists received death threats on Friday, leading the network to limit use of photos of the men. Friday’s edition of World News, which covered their deaths, didn’t air in the Middle East.

An ABC spokesperson tells Public Eye:

“After approving the release of the photos of Alaa and Saif on Friday morning, the families later in the day grew concerned for their own safety. From that point on, we limited our use of the pictures, recognizing that we live in a digital age and the photos had been distributed electronically.”
