It was a mixed bag for ABC’s “Nightline” the week of Sept. 20, as the program finished third in total viewers to “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and the “Late Show with David Letterman.” The ABC News program finished second behind “Tonight” in adults 18049 and second behind the “Late Show” in adults 25-54.
“Tonight” took home the win in total viewers and the 18-49 demo (which is what the network typically sells against it) and third in adults 25-54, which is “Nightline”‘s key demo.
ABC’s ratings are based on a 30-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on one hour.
