’60 Minutes’ #3 Show for the Week

By Chris Ariens

Thanks to a huge football lead-in — in fact the highest rated broadcast of the NFL season, CBS’ “60 Minutes” was the third most-watched primetime show on TV last week.

17.59 million viewers watched a weepy Rep. John Boehner interviewed by Lesley Stahl; Steve Kroft’s report on emerging economic powerhouse Brazil and Scott Pelley’s profile of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones which led nicely into NBC’s Sunday Night Football matchup between the Cowboys and Eagles — a ratings juggernaut in its own right.

Compared to the same night last year, “60” was up +6% in households, +9% in A25-54 viewers and +8% in the A18-49 demo.
