’48 Hours Mystery’ #1 on Saturday Night

CBS News’ “48 Hours Mystery” was the top rated program last Saturday night, Nov. 6. The program, “Taken: The Amber Dubois Story,” reported by CBS correspondent Troy Roberts, was tied for #1 in viewers A25-54 and had 6.24m Total Viewers.

The CBS program featured an exclusive interview with John Gardner, the sex offender convicted of murdering 14-year-old Amber Dubois and 17-year-old Chelsea King. In Gardner’s first TV interview, he told “48 Hours Mystery”: “I will kill. I know I will…I am the type that needs to be locked up forever. I am an animal.”

On Saturday, Nov. 6, CBS News’ 48 HOURS MYSTERY (10:00-11:00 PM) was first in households (4.2/08), viewers (6.42m), adults 25-54 (1.8/05) and adults 18-49 (1.5/05), sweeping its time slot to become the night’s top program in viewers and tied for #1 in households and adults 25-54 according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.

The program, entitled “Taken: The Amber Dubois Story” and reported by correspondent Troy Roberts, featured an exclusive interview with sex offender John Gardner, who was convicted of murdering 14-year-old Amber Dubois and 17-year-old Chelsea King. In his first television interview, Gardner recounted the horrifying chain of events the day he murdered Amber and admitted that he would do it again, telling 48 HOURS MYSTERY, “I will kill. I know I will…I am the type that needs to be locked up forever. I am an animal.”
