2009 TVNewser Poll Results: Glenn Beck & Bret Baier

38% of you said Glenn Beck. And you’re right. But perhaps the surprise of the year got just 10% of the votes in our poll — Bret Baier, who took over for Brit Hume on Jan. 5, 2009. Baier has benefited from the Beck lead-in and according to Mediaite, “Special Report” is up 26% in Total Viewers and up 34% in A25-54 viewers.

CNN’s John King got 22% of the vote, but it turns out “State of the Union” was just a stopover for King who will turn over the show early next year when he takes the 7pmET timeslot on CNN. A solo Sean Hannity got 17% of the vote. His show is outperforming the old “Hannity & Colmes.” MSNBC’s David Shuster got 16% of the vote, but his anchor gig at 6pmET went away after about four months.
