1050 ESPN Radio Shakes Up Daily Lineup

By Marcus Vanderberg

New York Daily News columnist Mike Lupica will host a daily sports-talk show starting next month on 1050AM ESPN Radio.

The longtime Sports Reporters contributor will take the airwaves in New York City from 2-3 p.m. He previously hosted a radio show 18 years ago on WFAN 660AM.

The addition of Lupica is just one of several changes for the sports-talk station.

Jared Max will host a new show from 5-6 a.m. followed by the syndicated Mike & Mike in the Morning and The Herd with Colin Cowherd.Ryan Ruocco and Robin Lundberg are moving to the noon-2 p.m. time slot followed by Lupica. Michael Kay will be joined by Don LaGreca from 3-7 p.m. with Stephen A. Smith (7-9 p.m.) and Bill Daughtry (9-midnight) wrapping up the evening.

The two odd men out of the daily lineup as a result are Jody McDonald and Brandon Tierney. McDonald will move to Saturday and Sunday mornings. Tierney is one of the better hosts on 1050 – – maybe they could pair him again with Smith.

“This addition further enables us to present compelling, credible and high-impact programming to the New York sports fan 24/7,” said WEPN general manager David Roberts.
