Alloy Media, the New York-based media and entertainment firm focused on millennial consumers, has been acquired for $126.5 million by an investor group led by ZelnickMedia.

Members of Alloy’s senior management will now help take the Nasdaq-listed company private.

Alloy is best known for creating hit properties like Gossip Girl, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars.

As part of the transaction, Geraldine Laybourne, the former CEO of Nickelodeon, is joining the company as chairman.
