WTOP Sweeps Murrows

WTOP-FM, Bonneville International’s News station in Washington, D.C. swept the Edward R. Murrow Awards, winning 11 awards, the most of any news organization. Bonneville’s KIRO-AM also won big, walking away with 9 awards.

The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded 540 regional awards in 18 categories for excellence in electronic journalism.

Two Gannett NBC affiliates also won multiple awards. KARE-TV in Minneapolis, with 10 Murrows, was the most awarded to a large market TV station. KUSA-TV in Denver, won 8 awards.
