NEW YORK Steve Jobs is taking a medical leave from Apple until the end of June as his medical condition is “more complex” than originally thought, he said in a note to staff Wednesday.

With the CEO sidelined, COO Tim Cook will take over the day-to-day operations of the tech giant.

“In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June,” Jobs wrote in his note.
