Longtime Speed ad sales chief Todd Siegel is taking on additional responsibilities at Fox’ cable sports division, assuming the role of executive vp, Fox Cable Sales.
In his new position, Siegel will oversee sales Fox Soccer Channel and Fuel, while continuing to manage inventory at Speed, where he’d served as svp, ad sales since 2004. Siegel also will handle national sales for the 19 Fox Sports Net RSNs.
Siegel now has oversight of the Fox Cable ad sales offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit.
He reports to Lou LaTorre, president of Fox Cable Sales.
“Todd’s leadership, vision and commitment to excellence make him the perfect executive to lead our cable sports ad sales effort going forward,” LaTorre said, by way of making the announcement. “Todd understands that long-term effectiveness isn’t tied to what is sold today. It’s about the partnerships forged with clients and agencies over time.”
Prior to joining Speed, Siegel served as executive vp for Screenvision, where he supervised the sale of cinema advertising to national advertisers. Before that, he was vp of national advertising sales for Discovery Communications. He also put in six years as vp of MTV advertising sales.
Siegel’s promotion comes on the heels of the January 2010 formation of the Fox Sports Media Group, which aligned all broadcast and cable sports operations under one unit.
