NBA Playoffs Bounce ESPN, TNT, ABC Ratings

The NBA Playoff ratings on ESPN, TNT and ABC are on a roll, with ESPN household ratings up 35 percent through 19 telecasts, TNT up 16 percent through 40 telecasts, and ABC up 28 percent through 10 telecasts, according to Nielsen Media Research.

ESPN is averaging a 3.1 household rating, up from a 2.3 in 2007; TNT is averaging a 2.6 rating, up from a 2.2; and ABC is averaging a 3.7, up from a 2.9.

The Conference Finals for all three networks are showing even larger increases in viewership. ESPN averaged a 4.5 rating for its telecasts of the Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons series, up 41 percent over last season
