The News Corp. is planning the launch of a national news title that would be distributed via tablets such as the Apple iPad and on mobile phones.
The offering, first reported by the L.A. Times, would be subscription-based and use its own news team plus content from the conglomerate’s New York Post and Dow Jones units. (The company also owns The Wall Street Journal.)
New York Post executive editor Jesse Angelo will oversee the digital news title. News Corp. is expected to invest $30 million to $40 million in the project.
