Although the docu-style format has become familiar in TV comedy—think Modern Family, The Office, Parks and Recreation—ABC’s new series My Generation is the first to apply this particular framework to a network drama.

Based on a Swedish format and created for U.S. audiences by Noah Hawley (The Unusuals, Bones), My Generation follows a group of twentysomethings, whose hopes and dreams were first documented on film during their senior year at an Austin, Texas high school. Now they’re struggling to adapt to the reality of their lives ten years later—once again in front of the camera.
