NEW YORK Brent Poer, svp of Connective Tissue, the branded entertainment unit of Publicis-owned MediaVest, has left the media agency to take a position at Warner Bros. Television Group in Los Angeles.
A MediaVest representative confirmed his departure but declined to elaborate.
A WB representative would not confirm that he had been hired and Poer could not be immediately reached for comment.
It is believed that Poer will assist in relaunching the WB TV Network as a new Web site, though the rep declined to comment on that scenario.
The company issued the following statement: “We’re in the process of developing several Warner Bros.-branded Web destinations and will announce all the details in the coming weeks.”
On the planned WB site, whose working title is wb.com, users will be able to catch free streaming episodes of all WB-produced series that aired on the net during its 1995-2006 run, including Gilmore Girls, Everwood and What I Like About You. It was not immediately known whether WB shows produced by outside studios — among them, Buffy, the Vampire Slayer — would be featured, or whether current series airing on WB successor The CW would appear on the site, per Mediaweek.com.
