How SNL Alum Ana Gasteyer Is Helping Chevy Market to Moms

Crackle has seen major success with Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Now, Yahoo is looking to do the same with another comedian who made her mark in broadcast TV while helping Chevrolet market its 2016 Traverse to moms.

This morning, Yahoo debuted the first in a nine-episode series featuring former Saturday Night Live cast member Ana Gasteyer called Going There in which the comedian helps show off some of the family-friendly features of the SUV. In the same vein as Seinfeld's Crackle series, each episode features Gasteyer driving one of her friends around—in Chevy's 2016 Traverse, of course—as they run errands and discuss parenting.

The Office's Jenna Fischer, Playing House's Jessica St. Clair and Gasteyer's former SNL cast mate Maya Rudolph are among the comedians to be featured in the series.

Gasteyer shows off features of the 2016 Traverse while discussing things like odd pregnancy urges and whether she prefers that her child grows up to be a nudist or a birthday-party clown. In the first episode, Gasteyer orders groceries online using Traverse's WiFi capabilities.

"I wanted to do this show because the only thing better than driving around with a friend dishing about parenthood is doing it in a clean vehicle with buttons that still work," said Gasteyer. 

As the sponsor of the show, Chevrolet will leverage advertising on Yahoo as well as syndication of the videos to share the series more broadly. Yahoo will also produce additional content for the show's website, featuring interviews with celebrity guests as well as moms and dads.

"The Chevrolet Traverse is a midsize SUV tailored to the needs of parents," said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet marketing director. "This Web series focuses on many of the premier features of the vehicle that were designed with families in mind, while entertaining viewers with some truly universal humor."
