Fox Television Stations are increasing the distribution of their local content through a deal with Redlasso, the companies announced Monday (March 23). The deal gives Redlasso the rights to syndicate content from the group’s local newscasts and make the content available to its registered bloggers and news-oriented Web sites.
“We want people to have the opportunity to see our content when they are on other Web sites,” said Ron Stitt, vp of digital media, for Fox Television Stations, which shares in the revenue from the arrangement.
Fox’s local content from stations in some of the nation’s largest markets will be available from the site beginning in April.
For Redlasso, the deal with Fox advances its platform. “We are thrilled to announce that Fox, one of the nation’s largest and most prominent media corporations, has recognized the overwhelming acceptance of our platform among the blogging community,” said Al McGowan, CEO for Redlasso. “We look forward to developing similar relationships with other media companies seeking new value for their content.”
