Erin Burnett, the CNBC anchor (and subject of Chris Matthews’ admiration), is “poised to sign a long-term contract” with CNN, according to The New York Times’ Brian Stelter. The information comes from “three people with knowledge of [Burnett’s] plans,” Stelter reported.

Burnett currently co-anchors CNBC’s Squawk on the Street from 9 to 11 a.m. and anchors Street Signs from 2 to 4 p.m. So far, there’s no information about what time slot she’ll take at CNN, but Stelter suggested that she might end up with an afternoon or evening broadcast.
