The latest contest show from Mark Burnett has landed at ABC.
The network has given a pilot order to Burnett’s The Shark Tank, based on the Japanese format Dragons’ Den, in which potential entrepreneurs present their money-making ideas to a panel of business moguls. Sony Pictures TV will produce the pilot.
A British version of Dragons’ Den has run for six cycles so far, and can be seen on BBC America.
In other SPT news, the studio, along with SPT-based Tantamount, is working on a 1980s-set period piece for NBC, aptly titled Lost in the ’80s.
