Tim Howard Stumps for Marriott in One of His First Brand Deals Since the World Cup

After coming off of a high note during this summer's World Cup, soccer player Tim Howard has signed one of his first new brand partnerships—with Marriott International’s #LoveTravels campaign that launches today. 

Marriott International Launches Creative Review

Marriott International is reviewing advertising for flagship brand, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, according to sources. The brand's annual media spending is estimated at $15 million. The incumbent, mcgarrybowen in New York, is expected to defend. The agency, which also handles a half-dozen other Marriott brands, declined to comment.

Marriott Picks Shop for Global Media

In a global battle of incumbents, the project shop rose up. MEC, an agency that worked on projects for Marriott International in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, will now take on the hotelier's global planning and buying business with estimated media spending of $80 million. The assignment includes digital media responsibilities.

Marriott’s Global Media Review Enters Final Stage

MEC and ZenithOptimedia are the last agencies standing in Marriott International's global media review. Marriott executives have briefed the shops and final presentations are scheduled for Oct. 19 at the hotel chain's headquarters in Bethesda, Md. A decision is expected shortly thereafter.
