You need the patience to resist calling with your Jack-Queen offsuit out of position, and the knowledge to understand your cards and your opponents. The game is a delicate balance of moves by the players at the table, and understanding your 'position' is just the first step of a long process of learning the game. It's for this reason that EV-Plus has launched PokerBuddy Pro to help aspiring Poker players improve their game as they play Zynga Poker on Facebook. We take a look at the application below. PokerBuddy Pro, at its core, is an artificial intelligence program that gives you three coaches that give you advice at every turn, explaining what they would be doing based on their distinct playing styles. The tool works by overlaying it's display over your Zynga Poker game, and the pleasant graphics give you all kinds of extra information about your hand, your position and more. Take a look at the screenshots below for an idea of how it looks. Of course, there's no 3D in the actual version, but you do have this HUD (heads up display) that is positionable anywhere you'd like on top of your game, and the information is plentiful. The software reads your current hand, gives you a quick recommendation, looks at your total stack and gives you that all important hand rank, which tells you where you are with respect to the probabilities of the rest of the possible hands in the deck. If you look closer, you'll also see the 'strategy tips'. In the screenshot above those are "looking for 3 of a kind", "see the flop" and "it's time to get lucky". These represent how the three AI players would be thinking when they were in the same situation as you. Having played poker for a while I can tell you that the thought process of a good player was the number one tool in teaching me to understand the game, as you learn what to be looking for. There's no doubt that this tool takes Zynga poker to an enjoyable new level, and I do recommend it to anyone who enjoys poker.
