Social Savvy Z Gallerie Hosts Pinterest Party

By Mary C. Long

Have you ever considered having a Pinterest party where attendees pin stuff from your store (or gallery) while sipping champagne and snacking on treats? The thought may have crossed your mind, we imagine. And if it hasn’t, it will after this post!

Beyond just having a Pinterest party though, Z Gallerie took it a step further and invited the folks from Pinterest. And guess what? A bunch of them showed up, including the founder, Ben Silbermann.

Z Gallerie shared the invitation on Facebook and their Social Media Specialist, Stephanie Howell, told us the response was pretty fantastic. But you can see that for yourself on the page (and we can vouch for it from seeing the number of attendees – the place was packed!).

Once folks accepted and shared their Pinterest handles on the event’s Facebook page, Z Gallerie added them to their Pinterest Party board. Attendees were encouraged to pin items they loved (there were honestly so many to love in this store) to this board and attach the #zgallerie hashtag (very handy for those of us fond of sharing pins on Twitter).

And to top it off, the pinboard was displayed on huge projector screen at the event and five pinners won $25 gift certificates! There was also a designated free WiFi connection, of course, to keep the pins coming fast and furious. You can check out all of the pins here.

One final note? The folks at Pinterest were incredibly friendly and wanted to hear about pinners’ experiences, as well as feedback on how they can do it better. That always bodes well for a platform! Oh and if you want to have an event like this, be sure to have fabulously pinnable stuff. Z Gallerie was like a visual candy store and that certainly helps.

Special thanks to Enid and Don from Pinterest for being so gracious with their time – and of course, Stephanie from Z Gallerie for pulling together such an awesome event!
