Whether you’re just getting started in the world of online video or have been at it for awhile and are looking to sharpen your marketing skills, Greg Jarboe’s ‘YouTube and Video Marketing: An Hour a Day’ is a priceless reference.
Back in December I received a copy of Greg Jarboe’s book in the mail. A couple of months later, I finally had the time to sit down with it. As someone who writes about YouTube and the online video industry on a daily basis, I understand what an endeavor it was for Greg to sit down and write this. In the book’s Acknowledgements he thanks his wife “Nancy, for putting up with me during the past 12 months—especially when I was in the ‘Room of Requirement,’ our nickname for the room down the hall where I worked on this book evenings and weekends.” But the time spent was definitely worth the results. ‘YouTube and Video Marketing: An Hour a Day’ has got everything marketers, consultants and business owners need to effectively create and market YouTube videos.
The book is divided up into eleven chapters and covers everything from the history of YouTube to how to map out a video marketing strategy, shooting and production tips, video optimization, community engagement, using YouTube Insight and analytics, and more. Read through the whole thing, chapter by chapter, in about an hour a day, or use the book as a reference guide as questions arise in your own online video initiatives.
Who is Greg Jarboe? He is the President of SEO-PR Inc., a columnist for Search Engine Watch and ReelSEO and has been working in the online video industry since 2006. He is a firm believer that brands need online video and aims to help them use YouTube and online video to its full potential with his book.
