Earlier today YouTube announced YouTube Slam—a brand new video discovery experiment that pins videos head-to-head, two at a time, and asks viewers to vote on which video they would rather watch.  The experiment, similar in format to the Google’s Demo Slam back in 2010, is designed to uncover the very best YouTube videos in the categories of Comedy, Cute, Music, Dance and Bizarre.

How does it work?  Viewers are presented with two videos, side by side, and are asked to vote for the selection that they like best.
