It’s that time of year where all the fun lists of the top videos, marketing campaigns, songs, movies and other trends of 2010 start flooding the web and no one is having more fun with their end-of-the-year lists than YouTube. This week YouTube launched YouTube Rewind, a cool graphic presentation of ‘2010: The Year In Review’.
YouTube Rewind lists the top ten most popular YouTube videos of the year, the top ten most popular music videos, and the fastest rising search terms from each month, as well as displays all the moments that defined YouTube this year in a cool graphic timeline that includes not only some of the year’s most popular videos, but also key moments in YouTube history from 2010. YouTube also invites users to talk about their favorite videos of the year on the YouTube Rewind channel page via Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
2010 was a big year for YouTube and the YouTube Rewind timeline is a cool way to look back at it, from the first YouTuber to hit 2 million subscribers to YouTube’s fifth birthday, the Old Spice response campaign and the rise of the Double Rainbow. What was your favorite defining moment for YouTube in 2010?
I’ll leave you now with the YouTube Rewind 2010 promotional video, including clips from the top 10 videos of the year, presented by YouTube Trends. Check it out, and when you’re done head over to YouTube Rewind to experience more of 2010 in web video.
