Move aside Netflix, iTunes and Amazon.  YouTube will be offering rentals on select Smart TVs and connected devices in select countries before the year’s end.

A press release from YouTube hardware partner TP Vision reports that, “TP Vision plans to introduce YouTube Movie Rentals onto Philips Smart TV’s later this year in select European countries.  Philips Smart TV will be among the first TV platforms to offer access to YouTube’s movie rental service.”

This offering would signify the first time that YouTube movie rentals were made available outside of the YouTube website or Google TV.
