YouTube Ad Blitz To Bring Social Gaming To Super Bowl 2013

By Megan O'Neill

With the Super Bowl just days away, YouTube has announced that this year’s Ad Blitz will be bigger and better than ever, thanks to a partnership with Adweek and the introduction of new social gaming components, including a touchdown dance GIF generator and more.

Ad Blitz is YouTube’s home for everything Super Bowl—leading up to the game they’ve got game predictions, party recipes, tailgating tales and more, and on game day they’ll be letting viewers watch all of the Super Bowl ads as soon as they’ve aired on live TV and vote on their favorites at the end of the game.

Sue McCauley, Ad Blitz Program Manager, writes on the YouTube blog that, “To make this year bigger than ever, we’ve partnered with Adweek to feature the Ad Blitz voting gallery on as well as on YouTube, and Adweek’s executive editor James Cooper and senior editor Tim Nudd will break down the night’s highlights via a post-game Google+ hangout.”

Additionally, YouTube has added a whole slew of social and gaming components to Ad Blitz.  Viewers will be able to create and share touchdown dance GIFs, participate in “Smack Talk” on all of their social media channels and view real-time visualizations of which team is “winning the internet”, play Paper Football, receive advertising advice from YouTuber DeStorm, and learn Fun Facts about Super Bowl advertising from Adweek.

Will you be taking advantage of YouTube Ad Blitz’s fun resources during the Super Bowl this Sunday?
