Imagine if every tweet sent using the #ThankAVet hashtag on November 11, $1 was donated to help veterans?
The History Network just brought your imagination to life. They’ll be donating $1 for every #ThankAVet tweet to America’s VetDogs.
Patriots and dog lovers unite!
The Thank a Vet social campaign, is “designed to recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by those who have served our country.” But watch out, because you might tear up at the tribute videos (they’re pretty awesome).
And, of course, they have their Twitter stream embedded so you can see all the tweets folks are sending as they #ThankAVet.
But what’s this stuff about VetDogs? It’s a “501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded by the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and serves the needs of disabled veterans and active duty personnel.”
Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation has provided guide dogs and training at no cost to people who are blind or visually impaired, including veterans.
So tweet your thanks all the time, definitely, but don’t forget to add the #ThankAVet hashtag to your tweet on November 11!
