Women's eNews Debuts Poverty: Tales from the Recession's Front Lines

Daily Internet-based news service Women’s eNews released news series Poverty: Tales from the Recession’s Front Lines, which it completed with the help of $100,000 in funding from Ford Foundation.

The series, which is also available in Spanish, focuses on the needs of American women in the current economic landscape, including trials faced by women with disabilities, single mothers, and women on welfare.

Poverty: Tales from the Recession’s Front Lines is introduced by editor-in-chief Rita Henley Jensen, who said:

Because I had not only relied on welfare but also studied the economics of women’s poverty in college, I decided I had to act and create journalism that told women’s stories.
