REPORT: Facebook In Talks To Acquire Waze
Another billion-dollar deal may be on tap for Facebook, as Calcalist, a daily newspaper in Israel, reported that the social network is in talks to acquire satellite navigation startup Waze for $800 million to $1 billion.
Another billion-dollar deal may be on tap for Facebook, as Calcalist, a daily newspaper in Israel, reported that the social network is in talks to acquire satellite navigation startup Waze for $800 million to $1 billion.
According to Calcalist, Facebook and Waze are negotiating under advanced due diligence, and talks began six months ago. The newspaper added that Waze reportedly also negotiated with Apple, which Apple denied.
Calcalist reported that Waze has 45 million users, tripling its total from 15 million over the course of 2012, and it boasts a 10 percent share of the U.S.
