Walmart is Giving Kindles to Needy Teens

The Walmart Foundation has committed to giving $1.5 million  to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as part of its “Bright Spot for Reading” Initiative. This money will go to add reading rooms in existing Clubs, and it will be distributed as $10,000 grants to 100 lucky Clubs.

Clubs from all over the US have already received their grants, and many have already opened the reading room. One Club in particular, the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas, has spent the grant on books, magazines, and Kindles.
