Volpi Was Forced to Leave Joost

Former Joost CEO Mike Volpi didn’t jump: He was pushed.

Joost released a statement saying, “Mr. Volpi was removed from the board of directors and from his position as chairman of Joost by shareholder vote. The company and its board of directors are conducting an investigation into Mr. Volpi’s actions during his tenure as CEO and as chairman.” The video site did not elaborate on why Volpi was being investigated.

According to Times Online, there was a falling out over intellectual-property matters between Volpi and Joost (and Skype) co-founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom.
