Every now and then an exceptional infographic comes out that we just can’t help but share with our readers. Viral Ad Network recently published one such infographic – a graphic representation of the most viral brands of 2010 (so far). The infographic compiles all sorts of interesting data, from the most viewed and most shared viral videos, to the most viral brands by total views, as well as frequency of videos going viral, how many views viral videos get on average and more.
The infographic isn’t just interesting because it ranks the most viral brands of the year (including Old Spice, Nike, FIFA and Twilight), but also because it provides valuable insight about the way that videos are spread on the web. For instance, they point out that when you compare Facebook and Twitter as sharing platforms, “Facebook is streets ahead of Twitter as a sharing platform, with Facebook generating up to 10 times the number of shares as Twitter. The reason for this is because content has a longer shelf-life on Facebook news feeds, than Twitter feeds (which update so quickly).”
