Teen Wins Hackathon With Twitter Spoiler Blocker And Gets Picked Up By Tech Company

If you love to tweet while watching TV shows, you probably have a healthy hatred of spoilers – particularly if you live on the West Coast. (Those East Coast folks seem to delight in ruining shows for the of us, don’t they?)

But very soon, that could all change. A teen just won a hacking competition by submitting a “spoiler blocker” for Twitter – and she’s calling it Twivo.

The Huffington Post shares that 17-year-old Jennie Lamere “entered the TVnext Hack event in Boston and not only won her category, ‘Best Use of Sync-To-Broadcast,’ but also won Best In Show,’ beating out professional developers with Twivo.”

Here’s how Twivo works: It’s an extension of Google Chrome that lets users type in key words they would like to block and for how long.
