The Birth Of The #RoyalBaby Might Be Twitter's Biggest Thing Ever [STATS]

In previous posts we’ve looked at the impact that the birth of the #RoyalBaby has made on Twitter, trouncing Twitter’s most-popular user and making a huge impact around the world.

As the story continues to unfold, Twitter shows no signs of losing interest in even the remotest of details about the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and, certainly in the UK at least, one study has suggested that this might be the biggest news story in the micro-blogging social network’s history.

Data from YouGov has revealed that almost nine in ten (88 percent) of Twitter users in the UK read about the royal baby in their Twitter feeds, beating out previous news events such as the death of Margaret Thatcher (85.5%),
