The new charts, which fans of We Are Hunted will be familiar with, are leveraging the data Twitter is collecting from tweets that include links to tracks from popular and emerging artists.
You’ll now find charts that offer a helpful genre breakdown, as well as some categories like “Emerging,” “Superstars” and “Unearthed” that are built on current Twitter trends and trajectory of artist mentions.
The new functionality lets you more easily surf around to find new artists and songs.
As TechCrunch put it, “Rather than waiting for Twitter to pair you with matches that it’s taking a guess on, the power is now in your hands.”
These new charts are available on the web, but not yet for the Twitter #Music iOS app.
As a reminder, you have to have a Spotify or Rdio premium account to hear full tracks on Twitter #Music.
