Twitter Updates iPhone, Android Apps, Restores Tweetie Swipe, Warns About Contacts Upload

New versions of the official Twitter apps for iPhone and Android were released yesterday, both of which contain a wealth of new features, including a welcome return to Tweetie-style swipe functionality, as well as addressing concerns about the Find Friends feature that stored the phone contact lists of users without warning.

Twitter has addressed the update on their official blog, and the main changes are as follows:

Twitter for iPhone

New features include:

  • Copy & Paste – The ability to copy a tweet into memory has been restored (click and hold)

  • Mark All Direct Messages As Read – Tap the check mark in the lower right corner to mark all DMs as read (this is VERY welcome)
  • Font Settings – You can now adjust the font size under Settings > Advanced
  • Share Links – The share button now lets you tweet, copy or email that link, and you can also save it...
