As we approach the new year, social media management company Sprinklr has analyzed recent Twitter and Instagram posts to reveal the New Year’s resolution topics users are talking about the most.

After analyzing more than 770,000 social posts on Twitter and Instagram, Sprinklr found the most popular New Year’s resolution topics were happiness, working out, weight loss, quitting smoking, unplugging and working harder. As of December 28, 92 percent of these posts had a positive sentiment, while eight percent were negative.

In total, Twitter accounted for 88 percent of the shared posts, while 12 percent of posts were on Instagram. Sprinklr found 63 percent of the analyzed posts were created by men, while 37 percent came from women.

Breaking down posts geographically, the data showed California, New York and Texas were the top three states talking about New Year’s resolutions.

Sprinklr has created an interactive website for viewing this data, which will update over time.
