Twitter Improves Privacy and Consistency of Direct Messages
Twitter wants to make direct messages a more prominent service and compete with popular messaging apps like WhatsApp.
Twitter announced recently that users will be able to delete direct messages (DMs) — private messages between users who follow each other — more consistently on both mobile and the Web. Users who’d deleted DMs on thier mobile devices were still seeing them on the Web.
Over the next few weeks, we’re rolling out an update that makes deleting DMs more consistent across web and mobile. http://t.co/VNtDXzwuvp

The update will synchronize conversations between Web and mobile interfaces.
