Microsoft Is 'Cooler' Than Facebook And Twitter, Says Poll [STUDY]

A new poll has found that the new-look Microsoft is considered “cooler” than both Twitter and Facebook, with recent changes in the software maker’s image and product range raising its profile amongst young adults.

Just under half (50 percent) of respondents to the Reuters/Ipsos poll rated Microsoft as cooler now than it was a year or two ago, which was good enough to rank the Redmond giant above both Twitter (47 percent thought Twitter was cooler now) and Facebook (42 percent).

Despite falling somewhat into Apple’s shadow, Microsoft has remained an important and incredibly successful global company, and its new Surface tablets, alongside Xbox and Kinnect, have boosted the brand’s image with younger users.

Google’s Android brand finished top of the survey, with its 70 percent coolness rating beating even Apple (60 percent).
