The Typical Twitter User Is A 37 Year Old Female [STATS]

The population might be aging, but not on Twitter: according to the latest statistics, Twitter users are, on average, two years younger than they were in 2010.

Pingdom conducted an indepth study of the age and gender distribution of the top social media sites.

They found that social networkers – while usually portrayed as a younger bunch – are actually quite varied in their age.

55 percent of Twitter users, for instance, are over the age of 35, and the average age of a Twitter user is 37.3
