Twitter's Robin Sloan on TV at NewTeeVee Live

Robin Sloan from Twitter’s media-partnership team discussed the combination of Twitter and television at GigaOM‘s NewTeeVee Live conference in San Francisco Wednesday, saying that of the more than 90 million Tweets sent every day, “lot of those tweets are about TV shows.”

GigaOM reported that Sloan offered three examples of using Twitter to enhance TV: synchronous show Tweeting, in which someone related to the show or an expert in the topic Tweets along with the show to add context and information; social viewing, such as aggregating Tweets about a show, as HBO’s True Blood does; and new kinds of content, such as the Twitter jockey deployed by MTV during the MTV Video Music Awards.
