TweetUp Buys Up News Aggregator popurls, Renamed Android Client Twitdroyd

TweetUp, which runs a Twitter search and advertising platform, went on a Fourth of July weekend shopping spree, announcing its acquisitions of news aggregator popurls and Android Twitter client Twitdroyd, which changed its name from Twitdroid due to Lucas Films’ trademark of “droid,” TechCrunch reported.

popurls assembles the most popular content from The New York Times, Twitter, Digg, Delicious, Reddit, YouTube, Flickr, and other news and social-media sites on one page, according to TechCrunch.

Twitdroyd, meanwhile, just released version 3.4.0
