Does anybody else have this thing where every day you wake up and it’s still CES
— Casey Newton (@CaseyNewton) January 8, 2015
Yes, we’re still talking about CES. We promise it will be the last time this year. Maybe.. In any case, UltraHD TVs had everyone tweeting, with 35.6% of conversations. Runner ups? Wearable and Internet of Things. Leah Pope, VP of Global Marketing for Synthesio, says in a statement:
With all of the buzz that drones and wearable technology had in the media heading into CES, it was quite interesting to see what consumers and those at CES are actually interested in and impressed by. The future of home entertainment was surprisingly the leading conversation around CES. This means that while consumers love to have the newest mobile gadgets on them at all times, the technology in their homes is still important to them…UltraHD was presumably the most talked about topic, as it improves their home entertainment and in turn their home lives. People are then interested in wearable technology and the internet of things, both of which provide technology that helps improve, and perhaps more importantly facilitate efficiency in our day-to-day lives.
Basically, we want our televisions to be more hardcore and we want to turn on our air conditioning with our watches. Simple, really. Most of the conversations were happening in English (see below), and also not surprising, but a little sad: 72% of all conversations were being had by men, while only 28% were had by females. Womp, womp.
Synthesio monitored social media platforms, blogs, review sites, and comment sections to cull the data before, during and directly after this year’s show.
