Top Eleven and FarmVille are this week's gainer and loser among the Top 25 Facebook games of December, 2012

It's the second week of December, which means it's time to move up the list of the the Top 25 Facebook games of December. As always, we're examining the traffic based on daily active users, which is the best analysis of a game's core audience. We're still on the bottom half of the list, which means the games' traffic numbers are relatively close together. As a result, it doesn't take much of a gain or loss for a title to start moving around on the chart. This is especially true today, as four of this week's selection of games are only 200,000 DAU. Here's what we've looked at so far: December 6, 2012: No. 25 (DoubleDown Casino) through No. 19 (Pyramid Solitaire Saga) Today we're looking at No. 18 through No. 13. 18. Monster World Wooga's Monster World is down a little from 1.8 million DAU to 1.7 million. The numbers are continuing to fall after the game peaked at 2.3 million DAU back in March, but the drop off has been relatively gradual since August, when it settled at the 2 million mark.There haven't been any big updates to the game lately, but the mobile version of the game is due to launch sometime soon, based on a conversation we had early last month with Wooga founder and CEO Jens Begemann. If the game's mobile version manages to launch in time to take advantage of the Holidays traffic surge that iOS titles often see, Monster World might move up January's chart. If not, then the game probably will stay in the same spot. 17. Pool Live Tour Geewa's Pool Live Tour is up from 1.9 million DAU to 2 million. Pool Live Tour managed to peak in August with 2.1 million DAU but saw a drop off afterwards. The numbers seem to be climbing again, though, as the past two months have seen the game's traffic bounce back up from the 1.7 million line. If the game continues gain traffic, it's possible it might actually surpass it's previous peak before the end of the year. Should that happen, Pool Live Tour would probably then move up by a spot or two in time for January. T15. المزرعة السعيدة FunPlus Game's المزرعة السعية ("Happy Farm") managed to go as high as 2.1 million before falling to 1.9 million. The game's been losing traffic steadily since March (when it peaked at 3 million DAU), but it's still the highest-trafficked Arabic-language game on Facebook. Since August, the game's been hovering around the 2 million mark, and this current low point could very well be temporary. If Happy Farm's traffic doesn't grow at all over the rest of the month, it'll drop by one or two spots, but if it manages to get back up to 2.1 million it'll probably stay right around No. 15 on January's list. T15. Slotomania Playtika's Slotomania is back up to 2.1 million DAU after starting off the month at a low point of 2 million. Slotomania's managed to hover between 2 million DAU and 2.1 million since March (with a temporary spikes up to 2.2 million in June and November), an impressively long run. Slotomania's strong traffic gains started in late 2010 and continued through September 2011; after that the traffic continued to grow steadily, but it did so at a slower rate. The numbers have been recently been staying around 2.1 million more than 2 million lately, so it's possible the game could move up to 2.2 million in the near future, though the odds of that happening seem like a toss-up. Either way, don't expect Slotomania to move much, if at all, on next month's list. 14. Top Eleven Be a Football Manager Nordeus's Top Eleven Be a Football Manager is continuing to see gains, moving from 2.4 million DAU to 2.5 million. This is one of those titles that's seen steady growth since 2010, but traffic's been dramatically increasing over the past couple of months. Case in point: Since September, Top Eleven managed to bring in 600,000 DAU. The gains seem to be happening faster, so it probably wouldn't be surprising to see the game grow by another 100-200,000 DAU before the end of the year. If that happens, the game could make it up into the top ten games on the list. 13. FarmVille Zynga's FarmVille is still dropping, going from 2.6 million DAU at the beginning of the month to 2.2 million. FarmVille was never going to repeat its peak of 32.4 million DAU from March 2010, but its traffic numbers have been falling steadily over the past two years. Now that FarmVille 2 is out, Zynga isn't promoting FarmVille as much as the developer used to, so we're seeing a more dramatic traffic loss. Not only that, but the game's DAU/MAU percentage is at an all-time low of 13 percent (a game is typically considered healthy when its DAU/MAU rate is above 15 percent). Most likely, FarmVille will be closer to the No. 20 spot than the No. 10 one in January. All data in this post comes from our traffic tracking service, AppData.
